Review: 001 Skincare Active Marine Power Concentrate

001 Skincare Active Marine Power Concentrate – Dual Action Formula – £35.00 for 15ml / £50.00 for 30ml (BUY HERE)
What They Say:

Power pump your skin with this extremely concentrated serum. Omega-rich Multi-Algae actives give lasting hydration and instant collagen-plumping effect to visibly even out lines and wrinkles.

At the same time, an innovative anti-oxidant packed complex assists in repairing environmental damage and perform intensive brightening actions to reduce visible dullness and boost radiance.
What We Say:

The Concentrate comes in a nifty little apothecary-style bottle with a sturdy dispensing pump – none of your flimsy breaks-after-a-couple-of-uses stuff here! It’s applied at the post-cleanse/tone and pre-moisturiser stage of your skincare routine. One or two pumps does the trick (depending on how dehydrated your poor skin is); we started off needing two for the first week or so, then graduated to just one per application as it worked its magic.

We used it in the morning and evening and had no issues at all with there being a filmy residue like we’ve previously experienced with similar products. The serum absorbs into skin completely, prepping it to take in all of the goodness from your moisturiser and make-up goes on like a dream.

So, what’s in it? The ‘Marine’ element of this serum comes from Omega-rich Multi-Algae actives, which boost moisture levels and create a collagen-plumping effect on the skin. Essentially, this improved the look of our complexions by refining the surface and smoothing out fine lines and wrinkles – it really worked!  This fabulous concentrate also boasts a veritable cocktail of anti-oxidants (CQ10, Multi-Citrus actives, Raspberry, Green Tea and Vitamin C), which help to repair environmental damage to the skin.
The only tiny thing we don’t love about the serum (and we’re being super picky here) is the smell. It has a slight seasidy scent, but to be fair, what do we expect from something called Marine Power? It isn’t at all overwhelming and if anything, adds to the natural essence of the serum. Considering how effective we found this product to be, and as people who regularly drink juices containing spirulina *holds nose*, getting over this teeny factor is easy.

In addition to being available to buy on its own, this product is also included 001’s three special Explorer Kits for targeted skin concerns. Each boxed kit sees the Active Marine Power Concentrate paired with another of the brand’s hero products, along with a rather glam, gold sequin clutch (note to self – add to Christmas Gift Ideas board on Pinterest). In the ‘Hydro-Sensitive Replenish Duo’ kit, it’s paired with one of our favourites, Rosa Damascena Essence Mist, and if you previously missed our review of this rosy beauty, you’re going to want to check it out it.

In A Nutshell:
Not only does it look great on your bathroom shelf, this potent serum has the power. It’s an absolute godsend for dehydrated and dull skin and the perfect addition to your beauty cabinet for the change in season. It feels wonderfully refreshing on application and results are instant – hello supple, bright, revitalised skin, we’ve really missed you!
