What They Say:

Nourishing masque with colour pigments that will quickly freshen up your hair.

What We Say:

Ok, so we spend a long time admiring the silver locks of our favourite Instagram stars – and of course the gorgeous Sarah Harris. But how do they create such a soft and healthy hue?

For us, we’re not quite brave enough to go the whole nine yards and add permanent colour to our hair – especially when it’s not a natural shade. Luckily, there are a few different temporary hair colours on the market – and this one my Maria Nila is just the ticket.

The brand comes from Stockholm, and let’s just take a moment to appreciate their packaging. Simple, sleek and an array of pretty pastel bottles – also they’re matte. In our opinion, they’re rather bloody beautiful!

So onto the product – it’s great! We used this on very light blonde hair (not bleached – just high lift tint highlighted). We’ve been told they work extremely well on bleached hair – or very very light blonde if you want optimum results.

You can either apply to washed and towel dried hair – or you can apply straight onto dry hair (we find the colour’s stronger this way). Maria Nila also sell a white mixer – which can be combined with any of their colour refreshers to soften the shade.

You simply pop on gloves, and squirt into your hands – and apply! The bottle has a handy pump too – so there is no need to keep handling the bottle when your hands are covered in product (if you’ve ever used home-dye or similar porducts you’ll know exactly what we mean!).

You leave the product on your hair for the desired length of time – we recommend at least 10 mins for best results. Then rinse out. We also followed with conditioner – you know, for added b-zing!

After we dried our hair there was a lovely soft silver tone – with just a hint of lilac (this must be the pearl). Our hair was shiny and healthy looking and the colour looked fresh – and nothing like a granny!

Oh, and it also lasted about 6 washes!

In A Nutshell:

This amazing creation makes hair colour so much more fun and accessible. The bottle is a good size and it nourishes your hair whilst it colours. And the pump bottled – spot on.

We love the scent, the packaging and the performance on this one. The colour selection is great too – if you’re not quite fancying silver!

We can’t wait to try more products from the Maria Nila range!

Hi! I believe it’s recommended for lighter or bleached hair, however it would help to neutralise brassy tones – but it won’t make your hair lighter or change it’s colour if you’ve got brown hair. I hope that helps! Emily
